Officers learn SFSTs by memorizing steps. That isn’t enough.
Our live SFST and ARIDE training is built for defense attorneys, public defenders, and investigators who need to understand how these tests are administered, where they commonly drift from the standard, and why those deviations matter in real cases. This is hands-on instruction focused on observation, application, and analysis, not rote recitation.
We teach the standardized procedures as they were designed, then walk through how they are performed in the field and evaluated in court. Participants leave with a clearer understanding of what compliant testing looks like, how errors present themselves, and how to identify meaningful issues without overstating them.
This training is practical by design. It sharpens case review, improves cross-examination preparation, and gives defense teams a grounded framework for evaluating SFST evidence without speculation or shortcuts.
SFST Basics (3-Day Intensive)
—The foundation of Field sobriety testing
This three-day course covers the standardized field sobriety testing curriculum most commonly taught to officers nationwide. It combines classroom instruction, hands-on wet labs, and the same final examination used for certification, giving participants a clear understanding of how SFSTs are designed, taught, and evaluated
ARIDE (1-Day Advanced Course)
— Where sfst ends, ARIDE begins
This one-day ARIDE primer builds on SFST fundamentals and explores advanced roadside screening concepts related to marijuana and other drugs. Taught as a follow-on to SFST, the course provides deeper context into impairment indicators beyond alcohol and how they are assessed in practice.
Our live SFST and ARIDE training can be delivered on-site to firms, bar associations, and public defender offices. We offer group pricing and can tailor scheduling to fit organizational needs. If you are interested in hosting a training or exploring group options, we are happy to discuss what makes sense for your team.
